Abstract

This article examines the development of social skills in elementary school students. To this end, the relevance of the research problem was determined based on regulatory documents, a review of scientific, pedagogical, and psychological works related to the topic of study was conducted, and approaches to the development of social skills were analyzed. Based on this, a content analysis of the concept of "social skills" was presented. This article briefly describes each skill group that makes up social skills as a whole, and explains the importance of developing social skills in elementary school students. The components, criteria, and indicators for developing social skills in elementary school students, as well as the levels of their development, are identified. The stages of the experimental study are systematically described. During the explanatory-experimental stage, diagnostic methods are used to determine the developmental levels of social skills in elementary school students. To ensure these levels correspond to the level requiring improvement, a plan for the formative experimental stage is developed and its course is explained. Recommendations for the research topic have been developed. We believe that the development of social skills in elementary school students is a valuable topic for research due to its practical significance.
