The article is devoted to the study of methodological concepts presented in the 1919 work «Pedagogy» by the Alash intellectual Gumar Karash. The purpose of the article is to identify the interpretation of the methodological concepts from Gumar Karash’s «Pedagogy» in the context of modern education. The research materials include the original text of «Pedagogy» and current teaching technologies used in today’s educational system. The relevance of the topic lies in the fact that the significance and applicability of the methodological concepts of «Pedagogy» in the modern educational context have not been fully explored. In the process of systematizing and classifying the research data, comparative analysis, methodological interpretation, synthesis, systematization, evaluation, and summarization methods were used to interpret the methodological ideas of «Pedagogy» within the framework of contemporary education. The importance of the research lies in demonstrating the relevance of the methodological concepts of «Pedagogy» in today’s education system, thereby emphasizing the value of early 20th-century national teaching practices. As a result of the study, the methodological principles of «Pedagogy» were compared with modern didactic approaches, and it was proven that they share common features with the interactive teaching methods of the updated educational content. Their interrelation and differences were also identified.

The empirical findings can serve as methodological foundations for university courses such as «Methods of Teaching Kazakh Literature» within the 6B01701 – Kazakh Language and Literature program, «Alash Studies and National Education Policy», as well as for the development of Gumar Studies as a research field.
