The article examines the ways of using the reflective approach in educational activities and analyzes the research work of researchers in this direction. The definitions given to the content of the" reflective approach " are analyzed and its main components are identified. In addition, the article also defined the concept of reflection, its types and forms. Methods of educational activity aimed at implementing a reflective approach in English lessons at the University, which contribute to the development of students ' knowledge during the lesson and allow them to successfully analyze the knowledge gained, were also analyzed. In connection with this, effective ways and mechanisms for implementing a reflective approach in English lessons have been identified. With the help of visual materials and pre-prepared theses, as well as in a free form, the essence of the groups of reflections, divided by discussion, was revealed.
The modern educational process requires the systematic use of reflective approaches by the teacher in educational activities. As a result of the effective use of the reflective approach by the teacher, students' cognition expands and adapts to the successful analysis of the acquired knowledge. With the optimal implementation of the reflective approach, students have the opportunity to directly participate in the educational process, in particular, to select material based on their interests and goals under the guidance of a teacher, to predict their success in Learning, Mastering the ability to compare current results with the past.
