Abstract

The problem of forming the educational motivation of primary school students with special educational needs (SEN) occupies an important place in the modern education system. Taking into account the individual characteristics and level of development of this category of students, the most popular is the effective organization of their educational activities, increasing interest, and developing individual abilities. This paper examines the methods and pedagogical strategies used to increase the educational motivation of students with special educational needs (SEN). Through the formation of educational motivation, the goal is pursued of active participation of students in the educational process, development of their own cognitive needs and interests. In addition, the provision of pedagogical assistance, the use of psychological support and special educational programs, stimulation of creative and personal development at school are considered as the most important means of increasing educational motivation.This study analyzes methods and techniques, the influence of the learning environment, the role of teachers and parents, ensuring their active participation in the educational process, taking into account the psychological characteristics of students with mental retardation. As a result, effective pedagogical methods are proposed in order to improve the quality of knowledge and facilitate the process of socialization of students by increasing educational motivation.
