Currently, against the backdrop of the rapid development of information and technological processes, the moral education of university students is becoming a particularly relevant topic for discussion. Numerous works analyze various aspects of this issue, including the concepts of emotional intelligence, methods of measuring it, the impact on academic performance and social adaptation of students, as well as its connection with moral and ethical development. In modern educational in the process, it is increasingly recognized that the development of students' emotional intelligence not only contributes to their personal growth, but also has a significant impact on the formation of their moral values and ethical standards. The paper examines the basic concepts of emotional intelligence and its connection with moral development. Methods and techniques that can be used by teachers to develop the emotional intelligence of students in the context of moral education are analyzed. The purpose of this article is to study the theoretical significance of emotional intelligence for the moral education of university students. To achieve this goal, a review of the literature on the topic was carried out, a questionnaire was completed and the research results were analyzed. The data obtained will help to understand the influence of emotional intelligence on the moral education of students and their ability to behave ethically. The results of the study emphasize the importance of introducing programs aimed at developing emotional intelligence into the educational process of universities in order to develop moral and ethical qualities in future specialists.
