In the current period of socio-economic and political development of our society, the requirements for the individual are increasing, which in turn, requires the need to further improve the process of preparing the younger generation for life and professional activities. The study of self-regulation mechanisms that provide stimulation of activity is of particular importance. The article describes ways of forming students' self-regulation. The formation of self-regulation in students is the behavior of a person in accordance with generally accepted norms, rules, values and professional requirements. In the article, the authors justified the need for students to have these qualities. It is described that the formation of the foundations of self-regulation is carried out through the process of personal development during the period of professional training. In addition, in the article, a survey was conducted and concluded in the direction of determining the stages of formation of self-regulation and levels of self-regulation among students in higher education institutions.
