The article presents the forms and methods of patriotic education of younger students in extracurricular activities. One of the types of extracurricular educational work at the school is a circle. Work organized in extracurricular times has a number of features: the obligatory participation of all students in the work of the circle; the consistency and diversity of student activities; the thematic nature of the lesson; educational orientation of the musical repertoire; readiness of students in the music field. In order to identify the knowledge of younger schoolchildren about the Motherland, various methods and forms can be used: conducting group and individual independent conversations, questioning, answering through drawing drawings, written works of a creative nature, etc. The use of several methods in combination helps younger students to more accurately determine knowledge about the Motherland, to more fully and deeply see the attitude and feelings of children towards each other. As well as the integrated use of these methods allows us to draw conclusions and analyze further work with children.
