In this article we present information about the need to form students' value orientations. Today it is not enough just to teach schoolchildren within the framework of knowledge, skills and abilities, the most important thing is to educate them with a personality with a new creative thinking. The new concept of the development of biological education (the updated school education program) focuses teachers on the application of active methods of teaching schoolchildren. One of the acceptable and effective ways of active learning is the opportunity to inspire students to take any action to get a result, for example: to orient them to science and research.
Based on the "Axiom System" proposed by V.M. Monakhov, we developed an author's technology for the formation of value orientations of schoolchildren, which we reworked and adapted to the conditions of the school's educational environment and implemented into a holistic pedagogical process (in our case, applied to biology lessons).
The results of the introduction of this technology and the analysis of this introduction into the holistic pedagogical process of the school, namely biology lessons, we present as an example of a student's research work, as well as the actions of a biology teacher in relation to this student's research work.
