This study examines the role of traditional music in the formation of national values among younger schoolchildren. The purpose of the study is to identify effective ways of transmitting national cultural heritage to the younger generation through music. The research methods included pedagogical observation, questionnaires, conversation and experiment. The experiment was conducted among students of grades 3-4 of the Zhana Gasyr Gymnasium No. 175 in Almaty. The systematic use of traditional music in music lessons and extracurricular activities has increased students' interest in national art, a sense of patriotism, and national pride. The results were quantitatively and qualitatively confirmed by differences between the experimental and control groups. The result of the study was that the comprehensive and systematic introduction of traditional music into the educational process is an important tool in the formation and development of national identity of younger schoolchildren.
