The authors of the article consider the relevance and importance of using interactive forms and methods in the process of training school principals as leaders of a new formation. The increasing demands on the professional competence of heads of educational organizations in the context of the transformation of the education system, digitalization and updating of the content of school education actualize the problem of research. The article proves that modern challenges require from the director not only managerial, but also leadership qualities, including strategic thinking, emotional intelligence, the ability to motivate the teaching staff, teamwork and innovation. The analysis of practical experience and scientific research allowed the authors to identify and apply effective interactive training methods in their practice, such as case studies, trainings, business and role-playing games, facilitation, coaching, project training, mentoring, Action Research. As a result, the authors conclude that these methods contribute to the development of managerial and leadership competencies, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and decision-making ability in an uncertain environment.
