The article deals with the problem of axiological cognition in the methodology of studying the process of pop performance, where the value attitude to the cognition and transformation of musical reality acts in solving the tasks set. Despite certain successes of pop music performers in the world practice, their preparation for research activities in music education has not acquired a proper solution, requiring the creation of a significant base of personal value attitude to the methodological aspects of scientific and artistic knowledge.
In the implementation of the methodological foundations of the research, axiological analysis is the main «tool» of the axiology of music education, being determined by the methodological orientation in the study of the value interaction of the performer of the musical variety with the audience. The value-semantic connections formed between them suggest the dialogical nature of their communication, when both sides are constantly in a state of dialogue, reflecting their personal experience.
Axiological attitudes allow the musician to penetrate deeper and comprehend the methodological foundations of the essential content of pop music and, thanks to them, build the logic of the research process itself.
