Balanced nutrition and the formation of children's eating habits play a crucial role in determining their overall development and education. The results of scientific research presented in this article indicate an imbalance in the nutrition of primary school-aged children in terms of essential nutrients, emphasizing the need for a greater focus on organizing rational nutrition for students in schools. In order to improve the quality of nutrition in secondary education institutions, the authors propose, for the first time, the model of a nutritionist-educator and the integration of a dedicated role, which can be performed by a teacher or social worker. The competencies required for this profession are suitable for a biology teacher with the necessary foundational knowledge of human physiology, for whom relevant professional training is provided. This work also briefly outlines the professional competencies and responsibilities of a nutritionist-teacher.
