Abstract

This article is devoted to the topic of inclusive preschool education in Kazakhstan. A group of scientists from AEO "Nazarbayev University" conducted a study with special pedagogues of thirteen state preschool organizations in Astana and Karaganda. For four months in 2022, special educators studied and tested the Inclusive Classroom Profile (ICP) in thirteen kindergartens in Kazakhstan. The findings revealed insufficient development of inclusive education in mainstream preschools in Kazakhstan. The ICP, developed in the UK, enabled practitioners to independently monitor and identify the quality of inclusion of children with special educational needs (hereinafter - SEN) in their preschool organizations. The ICP also allowed educators to assess this tool's applicability in the context of preschool education in Kazakhstan. This is a replication of a similar study in Sweden. Therefore, the study results have value for practitioners and scientists at the national and international levels.
