The present paper considers the role and importance of pedagogical innovation in foreign language teaching. The purpose of the paper is to analyze the theoretical underpinnings and substantiate the specificities of pedagogical innovation in foreign language teaching. The scientific and practice-related significance of this work consists in the topicality of the analysis of the peculiarities of pedagogical innovation in terms of foreign language teaching. The methodology of this study lies in conducting an in-depth content analysis of the scientific problem in question. As a result of this research, a substantial analysis of the body of knowledge and a synthesis of the important aspects of the issue under study have been performed. The significance of the given study consists in the fact that it could serve as a basis for further research opportunities.
