Abstract
This article describes the relevance of the development of research activity of university teaching staff, dictated by the need to increase the intellectual potential of science and research capabilities of universities in Kazakhstan. The normative legal documents in the area of education and science substantiate the role of universities not only as educational, but also as research and cultural centers, designed to create, transmit, implement scientific innovations. The article pays special attention to the need to develop the research activity of university teaching staff, as the results of their research activities determine the global and national ranking of the university and ensure the competitiveness of the university in the labor market.
The main idea of this research is related to the development of research activity of university teachers through the integration of informal research forms as Action Research into the activities. The research is aimed at solving the problems of developing the quality of the research.
The analytical review of scientific and pedagogical research of local and foreign scientists on the methodology of scientific search, on practice-oriented science, on implementation of Action Research (research in action) in the practice of the university will serve as the basis for identifying psychological and pedagogical conditions and opportunities of the university for development of research activity of teachers.
