The solution of new large-scale tasks of social modernization and economic integration in Kazakhstan is ensured by the quality of education. Higher pedagogical education is a system-forming area on the basis of which the entire education system is developing. However, the advanced development of pedagogical education in accordance with modern challenges, megatrends is complicated by a number of problems. Based on the study of the experience of international practices in teacher training and the current state of higher pedagogical education in Kazakhstan, some approaches are proposed as guidelines for improving the quality of professional training of a new teacher. The authors have identified the main trends in the development of pedagogical education. Consider the trend-integration as a methodological approach to the development of a new content of pedagogical education. Of scientific interest are some ideas, provisions derived from the international experience of teacher training: practicocentricity, new structures of higher pedagogical education and updating its content, practical use of the national qualification Framework (NQF), an innovative approach to the research component, new forms of attracting talented youth to pedagogical universities, schools, ensuring the well-being of the teacher and students. Based on the comparative analysis, some guidelines for the development of pedagogical education are proposed: updating methodological approaches and principles for the development of the teacher training system, taking into account integration processes in world educational practices, taking into account their national values and experience in the world educational culture; the need to develop a new strategy justified in the new Concept of the development of pedagogical education in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
