This policy brief examines the career preferences and career ambitions of 15-year-old Kazakhstani teenagers based on the results of the international comparative study PISA-2022, which are compared with the results of the PISA cycles for 2015, 2018. The results of the international comparative study PISA are considered in the context of three factors: gender, socio-economic status and location of the educational organization. For each factor of influence, the shares of career concentration and career ambitions are determined, that is the choice of the most popular professions, as well as the desire of a teenager to engage in a profession that requires a high level of skills in the future. According to the results of the PISA-2022 assessment study, the list of the most popular professions for Kazakhstani teenagers included doctors, teachers, developers and analysts of software and applications, as well as dentists. According to the results of the PISA-2022 assessment, many adolescents in Kazakhstan express ambitious career aspirations.
