The article is devoted to the topic of introducing pedagogical innovations into the educational process. Describes the didactic foundations of preparing future primary school teachers for innovation. On the basis of the research topic, pedagogy-didactics and the theory of education, psychology, methods of initial study of the discipline are considered. A survey was conducted on the topic, the effectiveness was tested. In addition, the didactic foundations of preparing future primary school teachers for innovation are comprehensively discussed in order to identify the abilities and inclinations of future primary school teachers for innovation, and the results of the questionnaire are analyzed. Due to the fact that pedagogical research has not carried out a special systematic study of the aspects and mechanisms of preparing future primary school teachers for innovation, the theoretical and methodological justification, clearly specified in this direction, has not been determined. Therefore, the importance of preparing future primary school teachers for innovation is increasing.
