In the article the goals and objectives of teaching the discipline "Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering and electronics" for students of pedagogical and pharmaceutical production technology specialties are reviewed. In accordance with the concept of education modernization in Kazakhstan, the main goal of vocational education is training qualified employees competitive in the labor market, fluent in their profession, perform their work effectively, freely oriented in related areas of their professional activity and ready to constantly improve themselves in professional terms. Coordination of professional training of future specialists in accordance with public demand is a mechanism and prerequisite for the implementation of the State Program "Digital Kazakhstan". The use of digital technologies has led to significant changes in all spheres of human life. The ability to work with electrical equipment is also a necessary competence with an intensive flow of information, as it is currently happening. Especially for future specialists-teachers and process engineers, a need to study, recognize, and use electronics are inevitably arising. The importance of the discipline in this direction, i.e. in the formation of digital literacy and information competence, is noted, and ways to organize training in a new way are outlined. The short-term plan of the practical lesson, where the SMART goal is defined, is given. Practical training of the future specialist is provided within the framework of mastering special methodological disciplines, methods and technologies of teaching.
