This article examines the importance of an interdisciplinary approach in teaching the sustainable development agenda in higher education institutions, as well as effective methods for its implementation. Sustainable development is not only a field encompassing environmental, social, or economic aspects, but also a multidimensional concept that requires consideration of their interconnections and comprehensive decision-making. Therefore, an interdisciplinary approach to teaching sustainable development enables students to gain a holistic understanding of issues, develop their abilities, and propose sustainable solutions across different fields. Researchers justify the necessity of interdisciplinary knowledge for a comprehensive understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the development of students’ critical thinking skills, and their preparation for addressing global challenges. The article discusses the theoretical foundations of interdisciplinary education, the specifics of its application in HEIs, as well as practical methods and technologies.
