This article discusses modern approaches to the organization of distance learning for students with
disabilities in higher education. The positive aspects of this system are identified and some risks that cause a
decrease in the effectiveness of teaching students with disabilities in higher education institutions are
highlighted, the main components of the distance learning system. It describes the necessary conditions and
pedagogical principles of distance learning for students with disabilities, the basic requirements for the
