Abstract

Nowadays all the countries have the policy for developing human capital and, consequently, pay a lot of
attention to its core components: education at all the levels from the kindergarten to continuous professional
development at the workplace. This means that educators at all the levels should follow the latest
developments in the field of education, for which their continuous professional development is a must.The
need for constant professional development of educators is determined by a number of factors. Firstly, many
societies and, as a result, education systems are undergoing a new stage of change. Secondly, changes in the
education systems and educational values lead to rapidly changing educational paradigms, from teachercentered to student-centered learning. Thirdly, there are a lot of new trends in education, i.e. inclusiveness,
application of CLIL, STEM etc.
